The SoCal vs. NorCal “CalCup” showdown was held at Fresno’s Valley Fitness last Saturday, September 7. It featured 12 matches, each pitting players representing their half of the Golden State.
Tom Martinez organized Team SoCal, while Tom Fitzwater led Team NorCal.
This year’s event was the tie-breaker as each region claimed three victories since its inception in 2010. Interestingly, the event victories have alternated between each region at each event, with history dictating that NorCal would be the winner.
Fate seemingly dictated the outcome as Team NorCal emerged victorious, claiming nine wins to three.
