On Saturday, June 4, 2022, a handball tournament and fundraiser was hosted by the Southern California Handball Association (SCHA) at Smith Park in San Gabriel, California. The SCHA is hosting the USHA Jr. National 3-Wall Tournament in July. All proceeds will be used to provide the players with handball gear and hospitality for the four-day event.
16 Teams competed in a double elimination, drop down format tournament, with each team guaranteed at least two games. Teams that lost in the first round dropped down and competed in a lower division. All players received tournament shirts and a great bbq lunch prepared by chef Mark Zamora.
Winners of the “Open” Division Champions were Dylan Hernandez and Eli Barajas.
Winners of the “A” Division Champions were Marc Pennick and Louis Gaytan.
Winners of the “B” Division Champions were David Ruiz and David Ruiz Jr.
Winners of the “C” Division were Luis Medina and Joe Ramirez.
Champions won pullover sweaters with tournament logos.
